Kerala: God’s Own Country, Truly

Kerala: God’s Own Country, Truly

Kerala is calm, green, and gentle. It doesn’t shout—it whispers. My first stop was Kochi, where art met history in Fort Kochi’s colonial streets. I watched the Chinese fishing nets at sunset and wandered past art cafés and spice shops.

Next, I floated through the Alleppey backwaters in a houseboat. Coconut trees lined the banks, children waved from tiny villages, and time seemed to stand still. At night, I lay on the deck watching stars reflect in the water.

In Munnar, the cool air smelled of tea leaves. Rolling hills, tea pickers at work, and endless shades of green. I joined a plantation tour and even tried my hand at picking leaves. I wasn’t very good—but it was fun.

I wrapped up my trip in Varkala. The cliffside cafes, the sound of waves, and that perfect mix of energy and peace—it was the kind of place where you plan to stay two days and end up staying a week.

Kerala is where your heart slows down to match the rhythm of nature. It’s not just a place—it’s a feeling.
